Abrams's unique heating challenges

About 157 nights a year below freezing, when aging heating systems give out

The oldest blocks in town run heating systems decades older than the newer builds toward Morgan

First frost typically lands around October 17

Seasonal timing

Median first frost is around October 17, and a marginal condensate pump usually fails once the furnace is producing water for hours at a time.

Common questions

How much does heating repair cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have heating pros ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that heating problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Heating pros see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Why does a furnace need a pump for its drain?

Where the drain is below the nearest waste connection, gravity cannot carry the water away, so a small pump lifts it. The pump becomes part of the heating system.

What happens when that pump fails?

A float switch shuts the furnace off before water spills. That protects the equipment and the floor, at the cost of losing heat until the pump is dealt with.

Are these pumps a maintenance item near Stiles?

They are. The reservoir collects sediment and the float wears, so a pump gets checked as part of a normal service on any condensing appliance.
